Limit the loot without spoiling the fun- How to keep your child from eating too much Halloween candy

·                    Use small Halloween bags/containers- Don't let your child trick-or-treat with a pillowcase, instead send them out with a smaller bag, and they'll collect less candy.
·                    Dole it out slowly- Let your child pick out which treat(s) they want and limit them to how many they are allowed to pick.
·                    Eat, then treat- Establish a rule that if they want to eat a piece of candy, kids must have a nutritious snack or meal first. This encourages them to eat more healthy foods and leave less room in their bellies for the junk.
·                    Offset  candy with exercise- Encourage, or require, kids to add extra physical activity when they eat candy--anywhere from 10 to 30 minutes, depending on their age, size, and fitness level.
